Readability comes before habit
Choose a subtitle size from the viewing player's options that works at your actual distance from the screen. A subtle outline or backing can help on bright scenes. Large text should remain comfortable without covering too much of the image.
When subtitles do not match
Confirm the film version or episode first. A different opening, recap or cut can make a track drift from the dialogue. A delay adjustment helps only when the offset is consistent and the player supports it. It cannot repair the wrong episode's text.
When the language is missing
Inspect another available edition rather than changing the catalog's original-language filter. That filter describes the production, not a player's subtitle menu. The selected service controls its tracks.
